Health Care

In hospitals, nursing homes, rehabilitation clinics….you can find them everywhere: spiritual caretakers working in healthcare. Of the four fields of work, this is the largest. The Vereniging van Geestelijk VerZorgers (VGVZ) is the national professional association for spiritual carers and has about 1000 members. We therefore conduct our research and refresher courses in consultation with and with the support of the VGVZ. Themes that are relevant in spiritual care in healthcare are often different and focus on the spiritual caretaker and the profession: professionalization, identity, spirituality and ethics. But also on the patients: recovery, spirituality, moral injury and language. The Centre is open to master theses, doctoral research or postdoc projects.
